The graphic sign, at times sharp, at others removed to create distortion and depth, has been a crucial point in the dialogue accompanying the production, as has been the chromatic figure of the individual yarns which are conceived as tools for the creation of the intense narrative scene drawn by the artist. Bauer designs complex settings in which the history of the individual and that of society are mixed together in a single story full of references to the present. The protagonist of these stories is often a young boy; Eden, Eden, Eden is no exception, as he appears in the tapestry moving within a natural setting full of connotations, mysteries and symbols.
Marc Bauer was awarded the A Collection Prize at ArtVerona 2020. The decision to work with him arose not only from an appreciation of his research in the broadest sense, but also because of the visual nature of his works in which drawing, erasure, stroke and colour undergo a unique treatment.
